Glennies Creek, Glenbawn and Lostock dams safe after seismic activity
23 AUGUST 2024In accordance with dam safety protocols, WaterNSW has conducted assessments of three Hunter Valley dams on Friday 23 August, after a seismic event centred between Muswellbrook and Denman.
The inspections at Glennies Creek, Glenbawn and Lostock dams confirmed no safety risk resulting from the event.
According to Geoscience Australia, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake occurred at midday and was felt across the region.
WaterNSW dams are designed to withstand major seismic events, and the most extreme weather conditions.
