Blue-green algae Red Alert warning lifted for Chifley Dam

The Red Alert warning issued by WaterNSW on behalf of Bathurst Regional Council for a high level of potentially toxic blue-green algae has been lifted for Chifley Dam, located approximately 20km south of Bathurst in Central West NSW. This site is now on Amber Alert for blue-green algae.

WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert advisory for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for Burrinjuck Dam at Goodhope. Water users downstream of the storage should apply caution and regularly check water supplies.

The red alert warning for blue-green algae that was issued for the Darling River at the Pomona boat ramp in the Wentworth Weir Pool, was lifted following two consecutive laboratory algal reports which indicates that the lake is no longer on red alert for blue-green algae. The Darling River at the Pomona boat ramp in the Wentworth Weir Pool is now on amber alert for blue-green algae.
