WaterNSW has lifted the Red Alert warning issued on 22 November for the Macintyre River at Toomelah, Boggabilla and Goondiwindi. The Macintyre River at Boggabilla is now on Amber Alert.

Blue-green algae Red Alert for the Macintyre River at Boggabilla, Toomelah and Goondiwindi

WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert warning for high levels blue-green algae in the Macintyre River at Boggabilla. This alert also extends upstream to the township of Toomelah to downstream of Goondiwindi.

Blue-green algae Red Alert for stretch of Darling River at Wilcannia

WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert warning for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for an area of the Darling River upstream of the Menindee Lakes, which includes the town of Wilcannia, as well as the sections of the river immediately upstream and downstream of Wilcannia. This Red Alert has been applied based on satellite imagery and visual on-ground observations.

Blue-green algae Red Alert lifted for Copeton Dam

The Red Alert warning issued on 6 November 2024 for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae in the Copeton Dam has been lifted. Copeton Dam is now on Amber Alert.

Blue-green algae red alert lifted for Chaffey Dam and the Peel River below Chaffey Dam

The red alert warning issued during September 2024 for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae in the Chaffey Dam and the Peel River, from below Chaffey Dam extending to Tamworth, has been lifted. Chaffey Dam is now on amber alert.
